Ooh, I am wicked!
My niece told me she was afraid of meeting a shark in the bay when she went kayaking. I reassured her that all the years I lived at Dolans Bay, I only saw a handful of sharks. I sent her this photo as a gentle reminder of this fact.

ReplyDeleteLaugh; my first time *ever* swimming in the ocean was in Australia; and my friend assured me that the shark nets would keep us safe. I wasn't sure, but I went in. LATER THAT DAY....a 17 yr old lost her leg to a 20ft tiger shark just on the other side of those nets....I didn't go above my knees for the REST of my visit!!!

I saw the movie "Jaws" as a very young woman and haven't gone swimming in the ocean since then!!!! I walk along the beach in the surf! (I would never go kayaking in the ocean either)!
